Our Clinic, the Pet’s First and Last Stop

We’re proud of our high-quality veterinarian clinic, which is overseen by Dr. Melissa Montgomery, who has practiced in Tulsa more than 20 years.

When a dog or cat arrives at our shelter, each is temperament-tested, thoroughly examined, given vaccinations, appropriate laboratory workup, medications, and spayed or neutered. Other surgical procedures are provided if necessary and in special circumstances other veterinarian specialists are consulted.

Upon adoption our dogs and cats receive the following:

Cats/Kittens:

Exit exam from nose to tail

Spay/neuter if kitty is old enough and of a good weight.  If not, an additional $50 deposit to be required and refunded when the surgery is performed.

Referrals For Spay/Neuter

All dogs and cats adopted from the TSPCA are spayed or neutered before they go home or, if the pet is too young for this surgery when adopted, a deposit is required which is refunded when the pet’s surgery is completed.

For non-SPCA pets, we refer to Spay Oklahoma, the only non-profit clinic in the Tulsa area offering low cost spay-neuter for pets of families meeting the criteria.

The program is designed for families with incomes of $35,000 and less.  Fees are $25 for cats, $35 for dogs, $45 for “big dogs” more than 60 pounds.  A sliding fee scale, based on income, is available for people on a limited income.  Vaccinations are also offered at the time of surgery.

Additionally, the Tulsa SPCA offers an open-to-the-public vaccination service every Thursday, providing low cost vaccinations and some tests for common disorders in dogs and cats.  No appointment is needed for this service.

For Spay Oklahoma information and/or an appointment contact 918.728.3144 or visit  www.spayok.org.

Spay Oklahoma is dedicated to eliminating the pet over-population in Oklahoma.  The clinic is located on the west side of Neighbor for Neighbor, 501 E. 36th St. North.
