We want
all members of a family to meet your new pet. And, if you
are adopting an additional dog, we request that you bring
your other dog(s) to our shelter to meet his or her new
friend. We call this “friend testing” in a neutral setting
to be sure the dogs will get along well.
All of our
pets receive a final check-up by our staff veterinarian
before going home with you.
We send
you home with helpful information on caring for your pet, a
starter kit including the same food the dog or cat has been
eating while with us, a DVD with some great tips on training
your adopted dog of all ages (such as crate and house
training, chewing, manners, etc.), and recommendations
regarding the veterinary care your new family member will
need. |
