TSPCA has an ongoing foster care program for orphaned puppies and kittens, mother dogs and cats with their babies, and dogs and cats who need to recuperate after surgery.

Additionally, some shelter pets are placed in foster care to work with them on minor behavioral problems, shyness, or they need more focused attention to learn basic manners such as sit, stay, shake and to be house trained.

Most foster pets live with their foster people about five weeks. We provide a "mentor" to help with any problems or questions you may have about the pets while you are fostering.

All pets in foster care have an increased adoption success rate since they have been in a home situation.
