“We are offering this low-cost vaccination clinic to help reduce disease in our community’s animals.  All of these diseases are potentially fatal viral infections.  And  people should know that state law requires that dogs and cats be vaccinated against rabies,” said Melissa Montgomery, SPCA veterinarian.

“Providing affordable vaccinations will help with overall health care for pets.  We’re promoting disease prevention and health maintenance as spring approaches and the risk of contagious infections in animals rises,” Dr. Montgomery continued.  “All unprotected dogs and cats should be vaccinated soon.”

“Some of the diseases we vaccinate against are treatable, but these diseases can have lingering effects, and they are expensive to treat,” Dr. Montgomery said.  “We’re trying to spare people the heartache and suffering that accompanies serious illness in their pets.”

The Tulsa SPCA is the only not-for-profit animal rescue and adoption organization in the Tulsa area that operates its own fulltime, full-service shelter.  Hours are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2910 Mohawk Boulevard.
