Big Wishes for
Volunteer Helpers
Calling all volunteers with
special skills to help when they have extra time on their
hands! For instance, we could use help fixing our (mostly)
outdated computers and printers. And, we’d like to train
friendly folks who have time during the work week to help
show our wonderful pets in the community when aboard our
Mobile Adoption Center (MAC). Let us know if you have some
time, like to meet people and share “pet talk,” a love of
dogs and cats and would like to volunteer at the Tulsa SPCA!
WE NEED PAWS FOR
(BIG and Small) PET PROJECTS!
Our shelter building was dedicated in 1948, so we’re based
in a building almost 60 years old that requires lots of
maintenance!
Additionally, we’ve outgrown our newer veterinary clinic
building and find we’re continuously adapting and
remodeling.
Finally, we’ve purchased land adjacent to our current site
with the dream of building a new shelter as funding allows
and that land needs lots of attention.
So, we have small wishes and big projects to help us in all
aspects of our shelter operations including daily care of
pets, a steady influx of moms and puppies/kittens, surgeries
and recovery of injured and abused animals, ongoing programs
such as cruelty investigations, events, community outreach
through low cost operations, and administration.
Here are some of our BIG needs that call for helping hands
and special materials. Please let us know if you can help.
-
Water run-off and drainage control in outdoor dog runs
adjacent to our clinic. This may require dirt-moving,
filling, graveling, some concrete work and possible
drainage re-direction.
-
“Dig-proofing” under fence lines surrounding doggie
outdoor large play areas.
-
Fence and gate repairs on all outdoor play areas.
-
Fill, repair and seal crumbling concrete walls between
indoor kennels where the dogs sleep at night. Repair
will help with our disease-prevention cleaning protocols
to control bacteria, viruses.
