Sunny’s Happy Tail

Sunny (originally Sunflower) came to us in August of 2024 as one of more than 50 dogs rescued from a single property. The conditions they were living in were heartbreaking—years of neglect, filth, and little to no human interaction. Many were severely matted, suffering from dental disease, and facing other medical issues. Suddenly, they found themselves in a completely new place, surrounded by unfamiliar people, smells, and sounds, unsure of what would happen next.

Thanks to the compassion of patient adopters, these dogs were given the chance to experience love, safety, and kindness for the very first time. Sunny is one of those lucky ones—she now knows what it means to be truly cared for.

“Sunny is doing better every day. She talks to us often but never barks. Eats well and has gained weight. She has really bonded with my wife and is comfortable enough with her, to sleep in her lap.

She has peculiar little habits that may never change but she’s a very sweet girl and seems comfortable in her home and with our other mature dogs. We think she’s very special and she is ready for Christmas.”
